Kunal Pandit – The singer who has sung superhit songs from the movie Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani releases his first single titled ‘Hona Hi Na Tha‘. The talented musician has written, composed and beautifully filled his voice with the mixture of peppy and groovy beats.
Talking about the song, Kunal says, “Music comes out only from a broken heart.'”
He is a trained classical singer. Talking about his background, he says, “I have been into music since childhood. I learnt music from my dad Pradeep Pandit and uncles. I feel lucky to be born in such a family with a royal music heritage. I got a kickstart through Saregamapa. It was a great push in my life. I had interest in music production, so I started producing my own music. I did a couple of albums. I also sang for some well-known composers in Bollywood.”
The music video, which is presented by Times Music, is directed by Shreyash Shinde. Although he belongs to a family of Sufi background, he has a pop-jazz western influence.
Kunal is inspired by many artists nationally and internationally. “I’ve a classical background so I’ve grown up listening to musicians like Ghulam Ali, Hariharan, A.R Rehman and Mehndi Haasan. Internationally, I feel inspired by singers like Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson,” he concludes.
