The first still of Goutam Ghose’s film Raahgir starring Adil Hussain, Tillotama Shome and Neeraj Kabi is out. The film is a tale of human empathy during times of crisis. Shot in the beautiful landscape of Jharkhand, Raahgir, based on a short story by the legendary author of Bengali literature Prafulla Roy, is a heartwarming story of three strangers Nathuni, Lakhua and Chopatlal (played by Tillotama, Adil and Neeraj respectively) who meet on a journey and create a bond with each other.
Raahgir has created a lot of buzz already within the industry. The makers are planning to take the film to various film festivals before its theatrical release. Says Producer Amit Agarwal of Adarsh Telemedia,
“With Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Goutam Ghose helming the project and three stalwarts of parallel cinema leading the cast, we always knew we would make a good film. We are happy that we have created a film that is not likely to have the tag of so-called ‘art house’ or ‘commercial’ cinema but will create a niche in itself and I believe would strike a chord with the audience globally.”
While Goutam Ghose has made 4 Hindi films and many successful Bengali films earlier, Raahgir is his 5th Hindi film. Producer Amit Agarwal, on the other hand, has backed notable Hindi Films like M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Simran.
