Actress Aisha Sharma is all set for her upcoming movie Satyameva Jayate. The film is an vigilante action thriller which stars John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee. Directed by Milap Zaveri, Satyameva Jayate is scheduled for an Independence Day release (August 15).
In an interview with Cinespeaks, actress Aisha Sharma speaks to us.
Q: What made you sign Satyameva Jayate?
Aisha: Satyameva Jayate has a great script and all the ingredients which typically has in a commercial movie. I was looking for something like this and I found the script very interesting. I also feel that a commercially successful film paves the way for new opportunities and Satyameva Jayate is that commercial movie which will open to great numbers at the Box-Office.
Q: How was the experience of working with John Abraham?
Aisha: It was great. He is very easy to work with and we bonded well while shooting for the film. He never made me feel that I am a newbie in the industry. So, it was great working with him.
Q: Is this your first feature film that you have auditioned for?
Aisha: I have auditioned for a lot of advertisement campaigns and several brand endorsements in the past. I can put that out on record. I have even auditioned for a lot of films and didn’t get on board for the same. So, I have auditioned for every promotional campaign, feature film or a brand endorsement.
Q: Does Neha Sharma advise you for your career decisions and films?
Aisha: Neha is always helpful but does not advise me. She is an encouraging and motivating person in my life. In fact, she is my sound board. She has always said me to not let success get to the head and failure get to the heart. I don’t feel pressured to outdo her work or stressed for any sort of comparisons. In fact, I don’t feel the burden at all because I am not a daughter of any famous father. Irrespective of my films fail or work, I have to improvise on my skills.
Q: What is your take on the film clashing with Gold at the box office?
Aisha: I think it’s a long holiday (Independence Day weekend) unlike any traditional Friday release. Both the films have enough room and screens to find the audience. In fact, the audience today is extremely intelligent because they will definitely watch a good film. So, I don’t feel worried or nervous for the films clashing at the Box-Office.
Q: Any specific genre you would like to do?
Aisha: I am comfortable with all the genres. I would like to do romantic, comedy, action and all kinds of genres. I am a very greedy actor.
Q: Who is your role model?
Aisha: I love Shah Rukh Khan and admire his work very much. He is an amazing actor and I am a huge fan of his work and performances.
Q: Ant upcoming projects post Satyameva Jayate?
Aisha: I haven’t signed anything yet. I will have to wait for the right script and the film.
