Shweta Tripathi is back in the limelight again and for all the right reasons. The actress who has played characters like
Shaalu of Masaan and Sandhya of Haraamkhor is now the Gajgamini Gupta aka Golu Gupta of Mirzapur.
While people have enjoyed the entire cast’s performance and have appreciated Shweta for her fearlessness and boldness, there has also been a section of people who have tried to troll the actress for her masturbation scene.
But it’s quite funny when you think there are people who try to troll others who are a lot more successful in life hiding behind their computer screens.
Speaking about her character in a conversation with CineSpeaks, Shweta said, ” All the female characters in Mirzapur are progressive which is so important in today’s time. Also there is no reason for the masturbation scene to be hyped about because it’s just another normal thing for humans. If men can do it and it can be normal, why can’t it be for women? ”
Mirzapur has a lot of limelight due to its uncensored content which exposes the audience to the threat of drugs and the power struggle that comes with it. The crime drama boasts of an ensemble cast of Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Divyendu Sharma, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Amit Sial.
Mirzapur is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur is directed by Gurmeet Singh and streaming has started from November 16th.
