Spiritual healer Amiben Modi says that Guru Purnima, which is on the 16th of July, is a very significant day. She says that it’s important to be express your gratitude to your teachers on this day. “Guru Purnima is a day when planets are aligned to offer enlightenment. It is a day to express gratitude to your teachers, mentors, it can be anyone, your parents, a teacher, a friend, a child, anyone who has led you to the right path, given you sound advice and wished well for you. It is a day to celebrate their contributions in your life,” she says.
She adds, “Guru Purnima is celebrated in India since the time of lord Mahavir. Since the early ages, teachers have been very important. On this day, when you seek blessings of your gurus you can truly achieve enlightenment.”
Amiben says that having a guru in life is very important. “Your guru is your moral police, they’re someone you look up to, whose advice and direction you follow and that moral police helps you stay grounded, stay humble and will stop you from derailing in life. Having a true well-wisher and a wise mentor always keeps you on the right track in life,” she says.
