Mumbai, Date: Veteran producer Anand Pandit does not hide his open admiration for legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and the camaraderie they share is well known in industry circles. Four years ago, Pandit decided to start the Amitabh Bachchan Media Scholarship in association with Whistling Woods, in order to encourage young aspiring talent. Ever since the announcement, every year one lucky student of cinema gets a scholarship of Rs 5 lakhs.
Taking forward the baton this year, Anmol Sharma of Whistling Woods International has received this prestigious scholarship and is thrilled to be able to pursue her dream of becoming an actor.
The Amitabh Bachchan Media Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to students of cinema and media after an exhaustive selection process. This scholarship is awarded to the student who shows promise and creativity.
“It has always been my endeavour to bring new talent and new stories to the fore. The Amitabh Bachchan Media Scholarship was instituted to give a direction and hope to promising students from the man himself. Anmol is a talented girl and we hope this scholarship will catalyse her path to her career”, says Anand Pandit.
Along with Pandit, Subhash Ghai, the founder and chairman of Whistling Woods International, has been instrumental in the exhaustive selection process. The Amitabh Bachchan Media Scholarship includes a trophy, a cheque of Rs 5 lakh as well as a certificate. The award was handed over to this year’s winner Anmol Sharma at the Whistling Woods Institute in Mumbai.
