Known for backing films that have great content, Landmarc Films has a reason to celebrate. Their Marathi film Ringan that released in June 2017, garnering rave reviews and accolades, has also gathered many awards at prestigious award ceremonies honouring Marathi films.
Ringan that was screened at film festivals like Cannes Market and London Indian Film Festival before its theatrical release in India, had also won the 63rd National award for the best feature film in Marathi.
Directed by debutant Makarand Mane, the film starring Shashank Shende and Master Sahil Joshi is a heart-warming journey of a father-son in pursuit of happiness and love.
The film received numerous nominations in various categories, having won the Best Film Award at 8th Chitra Padarpan Puraskar 2018 and Maharashtra Times Sanmaan 2018. The film also took away the Best Film Jury Award at Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar 2018, Film Composer of the year and Upcoming Lyricist of the year at 6th Mirchi Music Awards Marathi.
On the overwhelming response at various award ceremonies, producer Vidhi Kasliwal of Landmarc Films says, “After the audiences awarding us with an overwhelming response to the film, these prestigious awards are so very motivating. We at Landmarc Films are committed to back content that resonates with people.”
2017 proved to be a good year for Landmarc Films and 2018 that has already started on a good note, will see many new projects from the production house. We heard Vidhi is venturing in to a lot more than just producing Marathi films. Ask her and she says, “We are looking at many other avenues to reach out to audiences looking for fresh, enriching and entertaining content. However we would like to talk about them only when we are ready to formally announce them.”
