Careful, Mr. Nihalani! Your hypocrisy is showing!

Our favourite sanskaari pandit Pahlaj Nihalani back! The man who put Alok Nath to shame is now releasing a film whose sole purpose seems to be to show his true hypocrisy. Julie 2 dropped it’s trailer today and we all are clutching our saris and screaming ‘Hayeeeee’.

The trailer is 1 minute and 22 seconds long and around 1 minute and 22 seconds of that is seductive shots of Raai Laxmi, who plays the main character. She’s taking her clothes off for so many people, we almost mistaked it for Ragini MMS 2. It’s the story of how an actress becomes a star and it seems the only way you can do that is by undressing in front of strange old men. Interestingly, Nihalani has banned almost all the kisses in Spectre. Tagged with ‘Bold…Beautiful….Blessed’, the movie shows us the 3 things Nihalani never was. After shots of Raai kissing and undressing and undressing and kissing, she is suddenly greeted with a threat to leave the city in around a day. And then she dies, much like our desire to watch films passed by his CBFC. What happens next? We could not be less interested!

Nihalani has often been dragged on social media as a regressive piece of -ahem- regressive force behind CBFC. As the censor board chief, he blocked films like Udta Punjab and Lipstick Under My Burkha. The uproar caused because of this was the only reason it released in theatres, after SEVERAL cuts. After completely denying the existence of female sexuality and drug problems that actually existed in Punjab, he moved on and approved movies that have bled us dry since. People online were having none of it!

We know we are the youngest country in the world, but Mr. Nihalani, that doesn’t mean we are all 5 years old, despite what you think. His replacement was celebrated by the entire

Indian online presence.Anyway, the film promises to disappoint and not only because we dislike Nihalani. It contains all the vices he hated on and all the common sense he displayed i.e. none!
