Shilpa Shinde is a household name today. She has been a part of the entertainment industry since 1999, however, she gained popularity as a negative lead with a daily soap ‘Bhabhi’ & she also played the title role in ‘Meher’ and a lot of other shows. She recently gained a huge fan following for her role as Angoori Bhabhi in ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain?’ and an item song ‘Maro Line’ from the film ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’. With her latest stint on ‘Bigg Boss 11’, her career seems to be taking the right shape and she sat down to chat with us about the show & more:
Shlipa Shinde expresses her sentiments after being crowned the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 11’, “It is not possible to express the joy in a line. I feel like the truth has won. I wanted to show Shilpa Shinde‘s real side. I have been misunderstood a lot. There were rumors of me having thrown clothes on the sets of my show (Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain) and that I make unnecessary demands which were false and I wanted to put all this to rest by showing my real side on ‘Bigg Boss’. I’m an emotional person & people may not have seen me crying unreasonably because I would step aside to avoid a situation. I’m not argumentative. Infact Vikas Gupta used to advice me to come out of my comfort zone but I’m like that I can’t stick at a place which makes me uneasy. This must been noticed during my tasks where I wouldn’t display aggression and would leave if I would be hurt emotionally. All I wanted to show people was that the way love can win over others, a fight cannot mend one another. There’s a thin line between ego & self respect which would never be crossed. I was expecting to win by showing this side of mine & that’s what exactly happened”.
On her rapport with producer Vikas Gupta, Shilpa said, “We are both matured individuals. Our hit & miss relationship started from the moment we first entered the house. During the show days, he was the programming head & could have handled the situation better but never gave the attention wherein things would have shaped up better for me. Initially when in the house I wanted to make him understand that it is important for him to know the root cause of my problem rather than throwing his decisions on his actors. I found ‘Bigg Boss’ and the bondage of our contracts as an opportunity to convey my side of the story to Vikas in my way. I also wanted to make him realize the importance to being within a contract and facing uncertain situations. Vikas is the way he is & I’m the way I am, nobody can change that. He is a nice & intelligent person, once things got settled between us, we became cordial since we were staying in the same house. During tasks he has never helped me but in generic conversations he used to praise me”.
Confirming her no friendship decision with rival & runner up of Bigg Boss 11 Hina Khan, Shilpa said, “Yes, that true! I’ve heard Hina say she doesn’t want to work in the TV industry anymore and being someone who was boycotted after the whole drama that had happened, I should been the one mouthing these words. She’s not been in that phase & I hope she doesn’t have to be. Apart from that, there have been a lot of incidents which I cannot forget. I might greet her if we meet but we cannot be friends for sure”.
Shilpa on the rumour of her collaborating with Vikas Gupta for a web series, “I had promised him this during a task. He’s a very creative man and I would love to work with him. So we shall do a series together”.
“I cannot comment about Akash since he’s stupid but Arshi is sensible I’m assuming. I don’t know if we can be good friends but we are in touch with each other. But after coming out I’ve only communicated with Puneesh and Bandagi. I’m not going to forget all the bad that’s happened and maintain the good things even outside”, ended Shilpa talking about her relationship with her other house in-mates.
