After re-writing box office rules in India, superstar Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ is all set to take on the Chinese box office. The actor is currently visiting the country for the film’s premier.
Given that his last release ‘PK’ went on to do a massive business of over Rs 100 crore in the country, ‘Dangal’ is also expected to weave the same magic.
Aamir, who has a huge fan following in China, said, “There is a lot of similarity in our cultures. I’m comfortable with Chinese people. I feel closer to people in China than in the West. A closer connection I feel. I can feel the emotion when I come to China. It is something that I really cherish. I’ve been acting for many years. In the beginning, none of my films was popular in China, especially with youth in China. Then Dhoom 3 and PK have also done so well here. It makes me very happy that my work gets so much love from China.”
In India, ‘Dangal’ had minted over Rs 387 crore, which is the highest ever for a Hindi film. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film which is a biopic on wrestler Mahaveer Singh Phogat, also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra.
