Amidst Bahubali 2 breaking all the records and conquering the titles of all the firsts (which we will share later) Arjun Kapoor and Shradhha Kapoor’s Half Girlfriend has also managed to make a mark in the quest of being a first.
Yesterday, the makers of the film had relaunched the book (which is written by Chetan Bhagat) with Arjun and Shraddha on its cover. While addressing the media, film’s director Mohit Suri made some interesting revelations.
Did you know that Half Girlfriend is the first film to be shot in the United Nations and that too free of cost?
According to a leading daily, Mohit Suri said, “When we had gone to New York and were hunting for locations to shoot, I randomly uttered if UN could give us the permission to shoot for our film, and when I went to them and said, ‘The character in my film works in United Nations with the Bill Gates Foundation to earn money to make bathrooms in his college in village, and this is the fundamental reason why girls don’t go to schools in rural areas,’ and that is why we got that location free.”
“We got to shoot in such a place where most of the people in the world do not enter and not even get security clearance,” added the Aashiqui 2 director. Interesting, isn’t it?
The team shot for the film in the picturesque locales of Delhi, Patna, Dumraon, Varanasi, New York City, and Cape Town.
