“Film PM Narendra Modi is My Biggest Challenge As a Director”: Omung Kumar

Filmmaker Omung Kumar who has been known for helming some of the biggest biopics like ‘Mary Kom’ and the hard-hitting ‘Sarbjit’ is set to direct one of the biggest biopics of 2019 titled ‘PM Narendra Modi’ on one of the most prolific leaders of post-Independence India.

The film will trace the journey of a tea-seller who went on to become a politician before becoming the country’s Prime Minister.

As the first poster of the film was launched Omung said, “This is one of the most difficult and challenging roles that I’ll be playing in my career which is to direct a film, a biopic of a man who is one of the most prolific leaders in the history of India. It’s the most challenging thing a director can do and I humbly take the opportunity that I try my level best to do full justice to and make a film that everyone will be proud of. We only require your blessings and support.”

Omung has had an established record of directing biographical films and bringing the real life characters alive on the silver screen. With this film too, the director hopes to replicate the magic. Actor Vivekanand Oberoi has been cast to play the role of PM Modi.

‘PM Narendra Modi’ will be shot in locations across the country. The first schedule of the film is expected to start in a fortnight’s time.

This is a biopic that will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodar Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Chief Minister and finally his landmark election as the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy.

Produced by Sandip Singh and directed by biopic maestro Omung Kumar, ‘PM Narendra Modi’ has Vivekanand Oberoi playing Modi.
