It is that time of the year again; glistening streets filled with celebration and enthusiasm across Mumbai. Come rain or shine, devotees from all over are pouring in to seek the blessings of the lord. Along with many incredible Ganapati pandals, the iconic Lalbaughcha Raja receives a tremendous footfall each year. For the past 12 years, 92.7 BIG FM has associated with Lalbaughcha Raja and has invited their audience from all over the country to the phenomenal celebration of Ganeshotsav in the age old pandal. The spectacular idol at Lal Baug witnesses people from all walks of life including popular Bollywood celebrities paying their tribute and prayers to Lord Ganesha. This year, the Lalbaughcha Raja was visited by none other than the team of Dream Girl – the very talented producer Ekta Kapoor and her film’s lead actors, Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha. After the evening aarti, they visited Mumbai Ka Sabse Bada Struggler, RJ Abhilash at BIG FM’s on-ground booth at Lalbaugh.
“Dream Girl” the much-awaited movie is all set to release on 13th September. As the trio sat down to converse with RJ Abhilash, the national award winner Ayushmann Khurrana said, “I have lived in Mumbai for almost 12 years now but I never got a chance to visit the Lalbaughcha Raja. I am not a very religious person but I can say that this is my debut here. Ekta (Kapoor) brought us here to take blessings from Lord Ganesha and hope that our movie “Dream Girl” is a blockbuster. The aarti was beautiful; I just followed Ekta’s instructions about offering flowers, sweets and coconut to Bappa. I’m hoping next year I’ll rock it.”
Adding more about the movie and the role of radio, Ayushmann said, “Radio is a key aspect in the movie. I have dubbed in a female voice this time. I have a lot of practise speaking in a female voice. When I’d be at the studio recording, I would call my girlfriend and if her father answered the phone, I’d use a female voice. (Laughs) I’m very glad that the trailer is gaining traction and is trending. I’m really hoping the movie does well and is accepted by everyone.”
When asked about the struggles of a Mumbaikar, Nushrat Bharucha said, “It is my first time here. I feel Mumbai rains are very much a part of the struggles of this city. We took about 4 hours to reach but I am very glad that we could make it for the Ganesh aarti. I am also very pleased about our trailer being appreciated by the media, they really enjoyed it. It clicked with everyone, especially the songs that are really peppy.”
