Kangana Ranaut is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actress of Bollywood. She won many hearts with her movie Queen which also won her a National Award. The star is now busy with her two upcoming projects, Simran and Manikarnika—The Queen of Jhansi.
She recently spoke with a leading daily commenting about her career and how she thinks she is the only actress to take up comic roles.
Talking about Simran, a comedy movie, she said, “Simran is a comedy, not a biopic. I believe after Srideviji, I’m the only actress who’s doing comedy… be it as Datto or even Tanu in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of scope for female comedians. Raju sir (Raj Kumar Hirani) recently mentioned that he wants to make a film on a stand-up comedian.”
Simran is helmed by Hansal Mehta and is scheduled to release on 15 September.
