A regular at panel discussions about women’s participation in films and evolving narrative styles, Kanika Dhillon has emerged as the voice of change in the Indian content scene.
Known for penning intelligent screenplays and nuanced characters, Dhillon earned a spot on Film Companion Disruptors and ‘Top 30 under 30’ by the HT Annual Youth Summit. Kanika is one the youngest writers to have been recognised as India Today’s Woman Writer Of The Year 2018. With her stalwart credibility as a creative force, Dhillon gears to joins the jury panel at the prestigious Jio MAMI Film Festival.
The Judgementall Hai Kya writer along with other jury members will adjudge the best film made from all the entries received under a contest titled ‘Dimensions Mumbai 2019′. By way of the competition, Kanika will mentor young Mumbai-based filmmakers. Dhillon will be joined on the judges’ panel by Taapsee Pannu (jury head), Shweta Mathew, Avinash Tiwary and Karan Anshuman.
Kanika said, “It’s an honour to be invited by Jio MAMI Film Festival as a jury member. I think it is doing a wonderful job by serving as a platform for aspiring filmmakers. I’m very excited at the thought of taking a peek inside the minds of these filmmakers. Millennials have a fresh approach to cinema and I can’t wait to experience it.
