Kanika Kapoor has been making the right noises worldwide as she became one of the first Indian singers to perform at Buckingham Palace, in the presence of Prince of Wales Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla. The singer, who is also the brand ambassador of British Asian Trust was invited to the royal address for a grand gala organised by the royal family to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Trust. Representing Indian music in UK, Kapoor not only interacted with the Prince but also entertained the attendees and guests with her power-packed performance that had music curated by music producer Naughty Boy, who has made music with Beyonce and Sam Smith.
Talking about her royal rendezvous, Kanika said, “Interacting with Prince Charles was a huge honour and it was amazing to be hosted by him. I believe it’s the passion of music that binds nations together. Music is a universal language that transcends all boundaries and bonds people from all corners of the world.”
Interestingly, the songstress, who was at the SIHH event in Geneva in the capacity of its brand ambassador, is the only Indian singer to have luxury brands like IWC (International Watch Company) to her credit, which has magnified her presence in the brands’ scene across the globe and made her a brands’ favourite internationally.
With all the global recognition, the diva also receives coveted invitations to Fashion Weeks and parties, where she has been seen brushing shoulders with Hollywood biggies. From her red carpet looks, one can gauge that the singer invariably steps out in style and is informed of global fashion know-how. She recently attended the Milan Fashion Week and sat through the shows of designers like Roberto Cavalli, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana, occupying the front row seat. Whether it is fashion, brands, associations or performing at prestigious international venues, with her newfound prowess, Kanika is raring to go.
