Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to return to the silverscreen with her forthcoming Bollywood film Veere Di Wedding. The actress was on her maternity break ever since she gave birth to her little son Taimur Ali Khan. Amidst hectic Promotions for the film, Cinespeaks brings you an Interview with the Jab We Met actress.
On her forthcoming film Veere Di Wedding, Kareena said, “Veere Di Wedding is a story about female friends. We only had films like Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which were about friends but with the male perspective. So, Veere Di Wedding is an altogether different story on women’s bonding and friendship with a commercial aspect too. I enjoyed working on this film because I haven’t done a film like this over the years.”
It is often reported that actresses in Hollywood feel insecure while sharing screen space together in a film. When we asked Kareena her opinion on this since Veere Di Wedding is a film starring four actresses, Kareena said, “I have worked with Rani Mukerji in Mujhse Dosti Karogi very early in my career. I also starred in a multistarrer film like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which had two actresses – Rani Mukerji and Kajol. I also shared screen space with Priyanka Chopra in Aitraaz. So, it doesn’t matter unless the script is interesting and exciting. When I read the script of Veere Di Wedding, I immediately called up Rhea Kapoor and expressed my interest in the film.”
On recent reports of her starring in a Karan Johar film and how soon the audience will get to see her post the release of Veere Di Wedding, Kareena quipped, “The audience will soon see me by the end of the year.”
Veere Di Wedding also stars actresses Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. The film produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor is scheduled to release on June 1st.
