Zee TV’s biggest talent-based reality show, Dance India Dance: Battle of the Champions has been capturing audience’s hearts with some truly phenomenal performances showcased by its Top 10 champions. The camaraderie of the three terrific judges – Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bosco and Raftaar, has also been entertaining audiences along with the antics of the charming host Karan Wahi. Well, this week, viewers are in for a double entertainment bonanza as the gorgeous diva Karisma Kapoor will be filling in as the guest judge for her beloved sister Kareena Kapoor Khan while none other than the wild and whacky Shakti Kapoor will also be seen on the show in the Andaz Apna Apna special episode.
While all contestants put their best foot forward to impress our lovely judge, Karisma was floored by Soul Queen’s superlative performance to her iconic number Jhanjhariya. Karisma was very impressed by the hard-work that the contestants had put into their entire look and presentation of the act which brought back fond memories from the time she had shot for this song. She revealed the tough situations in which the cast had to shoot the original song.
Karisma Kapoor said, “There were two versions of this song – male and female. The male version was shot in a desert in 50-degree heat while the female version was shot over 3 days in Mumbai. While shooting in the desert, the cast had to dance on the sand which kept flying into our eyes making it very difficult to shoot the song. When we started shooting for the female version, I realised I had 30 outfit changes for that one song. Every look was different with different hair and make-up. The steps were quite tough. So, jhanjhariya was not only an iconic song but also the most memorable song of my career.”
Kudos to Karisma for such a breath-taking performance in spite of the challenges and for giving us a fabulous song to groove to! Moreover, superstar and guest judge Shakti Kapoor’s sweet moments with Karisma Kapoor added to the nostalgia of the Andaaz Apna Apna special episode. Our dapper host, Karan Wahi lived his childhood dream as he recreated his favourite Yeh Raat Aur Yeh Doori song with the gorgeous diva and was extremely thrilled and elated. On the other hand, contestant Mukul Gain left the judges awestruck with his beautiful act to Pardesi-Pardesi.
