Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Sanju’s best friend named Kamlesh in the movie. Jim Sarbh plays the role of Dutt’s friend as well. Sonam Kapoor plays the role of one of his girlfriends named Ruby. Boman Irani plays the role of Ruby’s father. The movie simply tried to inspire the viewers. It is very well said that, “Human should learn from another human’s mistakes.” Sanjay Dutt’s story of struggling as a drug addict gives a good lesson to teenagers of this generation that no doubt how hard the situation is never consume drugs. It will just ruin your life. It is a lesson for all of us that we should choose our friends wisely. The movie actually reveals the true struggle Sunil Dutt faced. He stood alone and faced the worst scenarios stiffly. The movie portrays Sanjay Dutt’s part of the story. The struggle he had gone through was revealed with the help of Sanju.

Ranbir Kapoor: Absolutely magnificent. Ranbir Kapoor has just made a proper justice to Baba’s role. There couldn’t be anything better than what Ranbir did. The act when he was consuming drugs literally made audience forget that this is reel and not real. This young talent has taken tremendous amount of efforts for this film.

Anushka Sharma: Playing the role of Biographer she tries to dig deep into Dutt’s story. She was neutral throughout the film. The looks which she has adapted was really adorable. She has a curly hairs in the movie and she looks cute and innocent.

Paresh Raval: Playing the character of a legend, Paresh Raval has again done complete justice to Sunil Dutt’s character. He acted it so well. He just tried to portray each and every emotion which Sunil Dutt has faced during this messy situation. Sunil Dutt handled the stress of the industry, political tensions and most important he handled the blame of being the father of a terrorist. The pain which Paresh Raval has shown is just marvelous. As always he did pure justice to his character.

Vicky Kaushal: Not having a huge experience sheet, Vicky manages well to perform so incredibly against such personalities we call Superstars. Vicky is playing the role of Sanju’s best friend who drags him out of every trouble he faces. His character restores everyone’s faith in friendship rather strengthens the relation called Friendship.

Dia Mirza: Dia mirza played the role of Dutt’s wife Manayata Dutt. She didn’t get a huge screen space but she performed well. She also tried to portray the emotions of Manayata Dutt. She has taken immense efforts to portray the character of Manayata Dutt.

Jim Sarbh: He plays the role of Sanju’s friend who dragged him into drugs and converted him into a drug addict. He basically played a role of drug peddler. Just like his previous movies in this movie also he has done exceptionally well. The young talent has got a long way to go.

Sonam Kapoor: Sonam plays the role of Ruby. One of the Sanju’s girlfriends. She doesn’t get a huge screen space but still she managed to leave her impression into the eyes of viewers. Her character in the movie was very sophisticated one. She too did well just like her co-stars did.

Boman Irani: Boman did a cameo as Ruby’s father. He performed well in making the viewers laugh. As rest of his roles, this one was also very interesting one.

Direction: Rajkumar Hirani is one of the best directors in Bollywood. The type of movie he makes has an interesting concept hidden. Sanju is his first ever Biopic. He adapted a negative story and made it positive. He didn’t reveal anything about Sanjay Dutt’s first wife and his affairs with other Bollywood actresses which was a great move. He successfully made the biopic without hurting anybody’s emotional sentiments. As always his direction was exceptionally well. He proved the power of media through this movie. He showcased that if media wants they can turn anyone into a star overnight and any star into criminal overnight. He gave a huge lesson to the viewers that we should simply not believe into media. At times there could be another part of story as well. Overall he has made a Masterpiece. This movie will surely inspire mass number of audience.

Songs and Background score: The songs were really appreciated by the viewers. There are no meaningless song in the movie. Each and every song somewhere relates to Dutt’s struggle and feelings. At the end of the movie there is a song which will completely surprise the viewers. “Kar har maidan fateh” was one of the best songs. It simply inspires each and every viewer.

Cinespeaks would love to give 4.5 stars out of 5.
