Skyscraper, an action –packed film, gives us some really good action sequences yet fails to produce a good storyline. The story follows a former FBI agent played by Dwayne Johnson, whose primary task gradually turns out to be rescuing his family from a newly built skyscraper – the tallest in the world- after it is taken over by criminals and set on fire. The start grabs some attention but as the story moves ahead gradually, it does not promise a thrilling plot ahead. Although the action scenes and the visual effects in the movie surely do impress, but the storyline turns out to be too cliché. Dwayne Johnson and Roland Moller have done a good job portraying impactful characters. But to sum up, good actors alone , cannot hold a movie together unless it has an impressive storyline which the movie lacks. Expectations from this movie with a big name like Dwayne Johnson were really high but it does not have that special spark in it which Dwayne Johnson’s fans like to watch.
Direction : The architectural rendering of the 225-storey tall skyscraper was indeed praiseworthy apart from the good action sequences. But the flm lacks thrill, and a good plot.
Cinespeaks would give this movie 2.5 stars out of 5.
