Neetu Chandra to star in a Korean Taekwondo drama

The actor bags the main lead in the Korean youth action drama

Mumbai: Actor and Kukkiwon Ambassador of India Neetu Chandra is all set to create new records and push the boundaries as she gears up to star in a Korean Taekwondo drama titled ‘Narae’. The actor has been offered the role by Grandmaster Leejeonghee from the Korean Taekwondo Federation whom the actor has a long-time association with.

Neetu who herself is an avid sports enthusiast besides being the ambassador of Taekwondo and Korean Martial Arts will be seen in one of the main leads in the passionate youth action drama. It will be shot in Seoul, South Korea and will go on floors early next year by April-May 2019. Directed by one of the noted directors in Korean drama, Ohe Chen Sung, the show will be aired on KBS TV.

Neetu who also holds four Dan black belts in Taekwondo representing India in the 1997 World Taekwondo Championship in Hong Kong admits that her skills in Taekwondo helped her bag the role in the Korean drama.

Says Neetu, “I’m extremely grateful and thank Grandmaster Leejeonghee. It is because of his sheer support that I have been able to bag this role in the Korean youth action drama. They were looking for an Indian actor as part of the drama who also had some kind of training in the sport of Taekwondo. Being a trained taekwondo player, I fit the bill and landed a role in the drama.”

The Korean drama is also being promoted by the Korean government in a big way. Being the multitasker that Neetu is, the actor has recently featured in two successful music videos besides also being the community ambassador for Patna Pirates, the Kabaddi team from her hometown Patna that is part of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League.
