Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, Central Board of Film Certification India, Filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar, Shaji Karun, Rahul Rawail, Rima Das whose film Village Rockstar was India’s official entry for Oscar this year, along with Ashok Kumar Parmar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of I&B, Govt. of India and Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of I&B, Govt. of India would be leading the delegation at the Cannes Film Festival this year to represent India.
The India Pavilion is being organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India and FICCI.
The agenda this year at India Pavvilion is to facilitate discussions on Indian cinema across linguistic, cultural and regional diversity, with the aim of forging an increasing number of international partnerships in the realm of distribution, production, filming in India, script development and technology, and promoting film sales and syndication. While the films that will be present this year at India Pavillion are The Last Colour of Vikas Khanna and Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya among others, several others film and television actors along with filmmakers would make their presence felt during the course of Cannes Film festival this year.
