Actress Priyanka Chopra is a phenomenal actress. The Fashion actress has not only made a mark for herself in the Indian cinema but also made her presence felt at an international level. The actress who is back home now was recently spotted attending an interactive session organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation in Delhi.
While interacting at the session, Priyanka said that she would not comprise on playing leading lady in films. The actor was quoted saying as, “I am playing characters which have nothing to do with my ethnicity which I feel will open the door for Indian talent or South Asian talent to become mainstream which will open the door for people to see us as mainstream entertainment in global movies, why do we only have to play the sidekick.”
She also added that at this point in her career she wasn’t willing to accept anything less than the role of a leading lady in a film.
Priyanka has played leasing characters in several Hindi films such as Fashion, Dostana and Barfi. The actress had recently walked out of Ali Abbas Zafar’s project Bharat at the eleventh hour.
Priyanka will be next seen in filmmaker Shonali Bose’s next The Sky is Pink’ alongside Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. The film went on floors yesterday and is currently being shot in Mumbai. The film is produced by Sidharth Roy Kapoor and Ronnie Screwala.
