Pulkit Samrat: Fukrey Returns is the definition of a sequel

Actor Pulkit Samrat who is known for his portrayal of the character Hunny in the 2013 hit film Fukrey is once again returning to the silver screen with the sequel ‘Fukrey Returns’. The film features Pulkit along with actors Richa Chadda, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal and Manjot Singh. Produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey Returns will release this coming Friday in theatres near you (December 8).

In an interactive session with Cinespeaks, Pulkit speaks about the film.
While speaking on ‘Fukrey Returns’ which is a sequel to Fukrey, Pulkit said, “Fukrey Returns is a definition of what a sequel actually means. I think a lot of people are confused between a sequel and a series. A sequel is a continuous part of the prequel. Fukrey ended on a note where Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadda) is sent to the jail. In this film, Bholi is out now and has a lot of vengeance towards the boys. So, Fukrey Returns is in sync with Fukrey. We take off from where it had ended in 2013.”

Pulkit’s last two film’s in 2016 didn’t create any magic at the Box-Office. When we asked the actor as to how he deals with failure, Pulkit said, “I think it is more important to stay motivated and passionate about your work. I cannot take success ahead as it may turn into ego. On the other hand, I cannot take failure ahead as it will turn into a burden. So, I maintain a good balance between success and failure. I just focus myself and concentrate on what I am doing currently.”

Speaking on his director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba who has directed both the film’s, Pulkit said, “Mrigh’s vision and concentration is the same as when he was directing Fukrey. He is an extremely dedicated director and is very particular about the timing. He is very easy to work with and I enjoyed working with him. He is totally a ‘Fukra’.”

When we questioned him as to whether he is pressurized with the release of the film, Pulkit said, “I don’t feel any pressure. I think we are confident enough for the film. I don’t take pressure. I give pressure (laughs).”
