We have all (im) patiently waited for the clash of latest release in B Town – Kaabil & Raees. Ever since the announcement of the two movies coming out together was made, we couldn’t help but to wait for the two to release.
Talking about the same, we asked questions regarding the clash to every star related with these two films, be it the Actors or the Directors, each one of them giving their own interpretation of the clash. Let’s recall what they said before the release:
Shahrukh Khan – “We spoke to the production team in person but nothing could have been done about the clash. We are in the same business, there are 100s of movies releasing each year and we have only limited dates, so such clash are bound to happen”
Hrithik Roshan – “Movies can clash, friendship should not. I am actually looking forward for this and I am sure will learn something new”
Rakesh Roshan – “I have tried telling them as a businessman that two bog films should not come together, his contemporaries are Salman and Aamir, not my son”
Rahul Dholakia – “I am honestly not so much into the clash, my job is to make the movie worth watching and entertaining people”
Sanjay Gupta – “Now when the clash is actually happening, there is no point in making any appeal or a comment, Raees is their baby and Kaabil is ours. I hope both the movies do great”
Having said these words, both Team Raees and Team Kaabil promoted their films in power. Shahrukh had a unique strategy of traveling by Rail and Hrithik gave interviews in full power, connecting with media and fans. While we all knew that the two movies will not make a straight comment on each other’s clash, what we didn’t expect was these stars to wish each other luck for their respective films and send love through social media.
On the day of release, Hrithik had the sweetest comment for SRK. He posted, “Dear @iamsrk today as a mentor Im sure u will inspire me yet again with #Raees and as a student I hope you are proud of me with #Kaabil.”
We could not even sink in this sweet gesture when SRK tweeted about the same saying, “@iHrithik wish could have avoided overlap of releases. That said…my love to u & @yamigautam dad & @_SanjayGupta. Kaabil wil b awesome”
Yami replied to the tweet immediately saying,“@iamsrk While the world calls is clash n expects a clangour, we rejoice the chiming sound it makes! All luck for both #Kaabil n #Raees @iHrithik”
Admit it or not, we were all expecting a sequel of “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Shivaay” clash by the Raees and Kaabil makers, but they gave us a happy surprise.
Talking about the Box Office collections, Raees and Kaabil were to share 50 50 screens for their product but much to Rakesh and Hrithik’s despise, the division is 40 and 60 percent, Raees getting an extra of 20 % screens. The Box Office collections are :
RAEES – Rs 20.42 Cr
KAABIL – Rs 10.43 Cr
RAEES – Rs 26 Cr
KAABIL – Rs 18.7 Cr
