Uri- The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strike conducted by Indian Army in the year 2016. In this attack or the first time, India changed the rules of engagement. We are now a part of the new India who does not want to take action and will not remain silent when our soldiers are attacked. The army officials are willing to lay lives for securing us and always put the nation above self. During the URI attack they were attacked mercilessly while they were sleeping in their tents, unarmed. It tells the story that we know how to avenge the deaths of our soldiers. The film definitely gives you goosebumps and raises the bar of patriotism in you.
Uri is a tree with branches starting from every combat scene to internal planning and functioning done by Indian army. The movie is a ride which gives you the thrilling experience of what was really going on in the minds of our Indian Army.
Vicky Kaushal plays Major Vihaan Singh Shergill, a highly reputed army man and a genius behind the calculated operations. He shifts to a Delhi army base to devote most of his time to his indisposed mother but not for a long time. During the Uri terror attack, he loses his friend who was also his brother-in-law, Colonel Karan which is played by the debutant Mohit Raina. This is what triggers him and he decided that now this is going to be “khoon ka badla khoon”, that is, he is not going to sit back and watch but take action against what had happened. Vicky’s performance is as usual on point and we can see the patriotism and the flame of revenge in his eyes which generates mutual feelings in the eyes of the watcher. His willingness and anger stored inside him portrays him as a remarkable leader. and The famous TV actor, Mohit chose an excellent film as his debut film. His performance was very impressive. Yami Gautam as Pallavi gets little screen space but she served us the best in whatever she had to offer. Paresh Rawal amazingly portrayed the role of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval as Govind.
The direction done by Aditya Dhar is commendable. The efforts taken by him and the team could be seen by how the whole movie was shown. The accuracy and factual details were his highlights and he used Vicky’s acting skills to his full potential.
Cinespeaks Verdict: The movie will definitely make every Indian proud and while you are coming out of the theatre, you’ll feel stronger and have a smile on your face, which will denote “we did it!” The movie is without a doubt, one of the best patriotic movie India has ever produced. Vicky Kaushal is the shinning star in the movie and increases the weight and credibility of the movie.
Cinespeaks gives five stars.
