Success Interview: Zaira Wasim – ‘’Aamir has given such a big compliment to me of being best actress but I don’t feel that I am a best actress yet’’.

Zaira Wasim is an Indian film actress. She made her debut in 2016 with the Hindi film Dangal, which emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. She played the childhood character of an Indian sportswoman, Geeta Phogat, with the performance winning her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Zaira’s most recent film was Secret Superstar, wherein she played the protagonist, Insiya, a young girl who aspires to become a singer.

Aamir Sir had recently said that you are best actress in bollywood so what was your reaction after this statement?

Honestly, I really don’t know what to say but yes Aamir sir has given me such a big and huge compliment that it’s very impactful and an honour for me but personally I don’t feel that I am a best actress yet but I am very grateful.

You come across as a feisty actor as seen in the film so have you imbibed it from your real life background?

May be not. Background I don’t know but that’s not type of person that I am or maybe I am but I don’t display it at all so if you look at me, you’ll see that I am not like that but what’s shown in film is just a character that I play but in real life may be I am or am not that type of a person.

Does Aamir’s compliment add that pressure on you?

Yes it does add a pressure on me but for me the pressure is great thing as it pushes and motivates you more and more to give your best foot forward and work very hard as well.

How would you describe Aamir sir like is he your mentor, or friend?

Aamir is definitely not a mentor to me but he’s more of a friend, advisor, and now he’s like a family member to me.

Recently Raj ji said that even when camera was off during shoot of film he didn’t get out of his character so how difficult was it for you to interact with him off screen?

We didn’t interact with him at all and honestly while I was working with him we all thought that he’s actually like that only like portraying the character on screen he might be that kind of a person off screen as well in his real life so other actors were so nice that we used to chill together with each other and he didn’t even interact with us even once and I felt like he was so rude with all of us but it was not so.

Zaira do you feel that there can be a part 2 of ‘’Secret Superstar’’ in making?

That is something I don’t know about at all and you’ll have to ask about it from Advait only as I don’t know anything about it at all.

What is definition of Superstar for you?

According to me there’s no such definition of a superstar but yes it’s a constant struggle where you just keep on working hard and putting your best foot forward to get noticed and ultimately reach the level of a superstar.

Any actress in Bollywood that you like and admire a lot?

I really like Alia Bhatt a lot and she’s a fabulous actress who’s very versatile enough and I admire her a lot too.

Have you met a person who’s like Shakti Kumar in reality?

No I’ve not met a person who’s like Shakti Kumar in reality but if a person like him exists in real life I would not meet him or talk to him and maintain a huge distance from him too.
