The iconic show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon which became a cult for youth returns for a fresh season with a new story and fresh characters starring television’s heartthrob Barun Sobti as as Advay Singh Raizada and beautiful actress Shivani Tomar as Chandni Narayan Vashishth. While Advay’s tough, brooding and irresistible look in the music video ‘Rabba Ve’ has already created a storm among his fans; Shivani’s unconventional ethnic look is creating an intrigue among viewers about her character.
Set against the backdrop of holy city Allahabad, the show has a visual landscape which will be a treat for viewers with Hindutva cultural themes. Talking about his character Barun said “Advay Singh Raizada is an extremely intriguing character as there are many different shades to him. He’s an anti-hero who keep you guessing whether he is positive or negative. He is a grey, purposeful and calculative differentiated hero. His behaviour towards Chandni is anything but a conventional romance – their chemistry reflects a very different side of love. You have to watch the show to know his story and understand what pulls his heart strings.”
Paired opposite the dashing Barun Sopti, Shivani Tomar impresses as the demure, learned and traditional Chandni. She says, “Chandni is an extremely unique character on television not just with her striking, ethnic look but her by her unconventional personality- She is not the regular, relatable girl next door. Female characters on television these days are very contemporary and bold however Chandni is different. She is graceful, demure and yet is rooted in strong ideologies stemming from religion.
