Swanand Kirkire is thrilled about his first lullaby and gladder he isn’t stuck singing ‘Tu kisi rail si guzarti hai, main kisi pul sa thartharata hu’!
Swanand Kirkire is one of the most revered personalities in the world of Bollywood music, recently he has rendered a rare lullaby ‘Maa…’ for Ruchi Narain’s HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR. What makes the song special is that is a father’s lullaby. The fact that it is so uncommon, adds to its charm.
“There are very few lullabies sung from a father’s perspective, so that in itself makes this so rare. I just had to be a part of it. Singing the song was also special because one it is from a Ruchi Narain film, Ruchi and I go a long back to the days when we were both assisting Sudhir Mishra. Then there was Sneha Khanwalkar whose work I really like. She always trying to make something different out of it. Plus there was the incentive of working on my more tender emotions. Where can we get songs that have such sweet lyrics and tender emotions that a father would have for his son,” asked Swanand Kirkire.
HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR with an ensemble cast featuring voice overs by Salman Khan, RaveenaTandon, Kunal Kemmu, Chunky Pandey, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande and Javed Akhtar is been produced by R.A.T. FILMS, presented by RNB film in association with R.A.T films and is slated to release on the 2nd of June.
