Actress Vidya Balan is a powerhouse performer. The Kahaani actress has time and again proved her mettle by portraying strong women characters on celluloid. The actress who was last seen in Suresh Triveni’s Tumhari Sulu which was a Box-Office success will now reportedly essay the role of former Prime Minister of India – India Gandhi.
Vidya along with producer husband Sidharth Roy Kapur have earlier bought the rights of Sagarika Ghose’s book “Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister”. As per a report in a popular daily, the book will be adapted into a web series owing to the vast content and material.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala is also on board as one of the producers and the team is being set up for the web series.
Vidya will also be seen essaying the character of Basavatarakam in the untitled biopic on N.T. Rama Rao. The actress will be making her Telugu debut down South after winning hearts in Bollywood with her impressionable performances in films like Paa, Begum Jaan, The Dirty Picture and No One Killed Jessica.
