Mumbai: When it comes to content, Yoodlee Films has uncompromisingly stuck to fearless filmmaking. Take a look at their roster of films so far – from the hard hitting ‘Ajji’, to the sensitively portrayed ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’ and now ‘Brij Mohan Amar Rahe’, one sees variety in choice of subjects and consistency in sticking to its product promise.
It’s not just the content, but the release strategy that Yoodlee has been chalking out for its slate of films, is a distinguishing factor. With Ajji it was the festival route and a subsequent release in theatres, with Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz – it was slightly wider theatrical release given the genre of the film, and with their latest film, ‘Brij Mohan Amar Rahe’ it is a direct international release on Netflix, given the film is targeted to a young digital audience.
Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP, TV and Films, Saregama and Yoodlee Films says, “We are glad to announce our first Netflix Original film from Yoodlee Films. This is also the second film after ‘Ajji’ that has found a home in the streaming platform . Yoodlee Films makes cinema that is for a world audience, not limited by language barriers, and with the release of Brij Mohan… on Netflix, I am thrilled that it will be able to reach out to relevant audiences both in domestic and international markets.”
‘Brij Mohan Amar Rahe’ revolves around the life of Brij Mohan (36), a hosiery shop owner in a busy Delhi market who desperately wants to change his life. In order to escape his wretched life, he changes his appearance and adopts a new identity but ends up committing a botched up murder. On the run and hopeful of making a new beginning, he instead finds himself trapped in a web of his own making. The film stars Arjun Mathur, Nidhi Singh, Sheetal Thakur, Manav Vij, Sunny Hinduja, Vijayant Kohli and Yogendra Tikku in key roles.
