“I don’t think national anthem should be played in theater halls rather it can be played in Court, schools and also in the offices of the political parties. You cannot force patriotism especially when you go to watch a film just to have a good time, not to follow any sorts of rules and regulations. I go to the theater once a week I have seen old people struggling to follow this, first of all, to come to the theater for them is a struggle, now they generally come with their family and by the time they could get them to the seats they need to stand up for the anthem. I have also seen disabled people struggling, I think this implementation is pushing it a bit too far”- Vidya Balan on one of India’s biggest publication.
