Ever since Kangana made her appearance on Koffee with Karan and spoke rather bluntly about nepotism, the word and Bollywood has gone hand in hand.
Kangana had said, “In my biopic if ever it’s made, you’ll play that stereotypical Bollywood biggie, who is like you know, very snooty and completely intolerant towards outsiders, flag-bearer of nepotism, the movie mafia.”
What followed was a series of controversies and war of words between the two. Even other celebrities were also asked on their opinion, few of them spoke honestly while the others chose to keep shut not contributing in the already heated controversy.
Recently, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about his take on nepotism as he belonged with the Kapoor family who has their mark on the industry for more than 5-6 decades now.
Responding to the same, he said, “Of course, it exists. It exists everywhere but how I see it in my family, I believe my great grandfather worked really hard to give his children the correct opportunity and my dad did the same and I am doing the same. So, yes it does exist.”
Earlier when Arjun Kapoor was asked about it, he agreed to nepotism and said, “In every business, parents want their children to be a part of their profession and if the child is interested, then they educate him and make him capable of working in their profession. It happens in all the fields. Of course, it is a bit easier for us, but at the end of the day, it is a business. A director won’t take us at a point of time where we are not saleable. So you have to be worth it.”
We do agree with them!
