Summer means strong sun and sweat. So the makeup often is light and nice yet tricky to make sure you beat the heat in style. Celebrity makeup artist and hair specialist Florian Hurel says the season is all about less being more and make sure you skin looks supple yet fresh.
“Summer makeup could be again the no-makeup look, dewy and breathing skin. However the cut crease makeup is in right now for a more elaborated look, be it a party or for some special occasion in the evening, this look grab eyeballs,” he says.
Sharing the dos and don’ts of makeup when one is stepping out in the sun, Hurel adds, “Always keep a good sunscreen with no white undertones to it handy. Keep your skin moisturised all the time. Yes you read it right. During summers our skin becomes dry, thanks to all the heat and sweat,” he adds.
Hurel says that it’s very important to keep the skin hydrated and suggests that one should drink enough water, to begin with. “As I said, moisturiser is the key step that you need to keep on doing, but unlike winter use light or natural moisturizer. Summers or not, keep moisturizing your skin every season to prevent from dryness and ageing,” he explains. While you can put on makeup every season, Hurel says it’s important to take care of your skin. “When the skin is hydrated and supple can the makeup do wonders. Also, don’t forget tp remove your makeup before going to bed. That’s very important,” he adds.
