Prakhar Toshniwal, an upcoming Indian actor known for his stellar performances in Hotstar’s short A Tale of an Onion Witch, Alt Balaji’s Bebaakee and TV show Ishqbaaaz has yet again stunned the audience with the release of the second season of Zee 5’s Jamai 2.0 starring Ravi Dubey (as Sid), Nia Sharma (as Roshini) and Achint Kaur (as DD).
A digital spin-off of the popular television show Jamai Raja, the first season of Jamai 2.0 aired in 2019. The thriller returned with its much-awaited sequel on February 26 with Prakhar Toshniwal essaying the role of DD’s son and Roshini’s brother Ajit Patel, who was introduced as the plot’s central character in the first season. The sequel revolves around Ajit Patel as Sid determines to find him and seek revenge for his sister’s murder.
Within a week of its release, the show has received fantastic reviews from across the country with special mentions for the cast pouring in from social media and elsewhere. Jamai Raja 2.0 Season 2 assures the viewers are glued to the screens until the very last scene of the season. Talking about his character, Prakhar says “Ajit Patel is the most layered character I’ve ever portrayed on screen until now. Imagine an innocent guy having been locked down for 10 years for no fault of his. He is a personification of loneliness, guilt and unpredictability. All he wants from life is freedom.”
Prakhar also talks about his entrée into this star-studded show with many of the well known TV and film actors being part of the revenge saga. “Performing alongside such an experienced star cast was an absolute delight. When I went to the sets, I thought nobody would even care. But it was just the opposite. Their humility and attitude towards me just notched up my performance. I never felt out of place. On the other hand, I knew that I could be easily overshadowed with their performances, and the only way to shine was by delivering a good performance myself. It kept me on toes all the time.”
