Ranveer Singh :- “As an actor I work as if there is no tomorrow”.

Cinespeaks caught up with actor Ranveer Singh, who will be seen playing the historical role of Bajirao Peshwa in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus historical romance period movie Bajirao Mastani. The film features actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra alongside Ranveer Singh and is ready to release on the 18th of December 2015.

Talking about his high levels of energy and enthusiasm Ranveer said, ” I am feeling overwhlemingly high presently since the film is getting a good response from the audience. I always wanted to be an actor right from my childhood and that is why I am always very enthusiastic about my work. I don’t believe in tomorrow and so I try to live as much as possible today. I have a mindset that whatever I do today, I shall do it to its full extent.”

Talking about his role of Bajirao, Ranveer added, ” I had locked myself in a hotel room for 21 days to get into the character of Bajirao and kept myself cut off from todays world since you cannot go to an era of 1700 (laughs…). I had to change my body to a warrior like physique and needed to put on some muscle mass. I also used to speak in the Marathi language and learnt the various styles of sitting and walking. It used to take 2 hours for me to get ready keeping in mind the various aspects such as the mustache, costumes, etc. Once I left the room and got completely ready, I used to switch to my character of Peshwa Bajirao and did not want anyone to remind me of Ranveer Singh.”

Speaking about the influence he had by playing the role of Bajirao Ranveer said, ” One thing that really sticks with me is fearlessness. He was very fearless and tackled everything very bravely and strongly.”

When questioned about his characters Ranveer said, ” Bajirao Mastani was a very much exhausting film since there were war sequences and it was physically very draining and tiring. On the contrary, my character in Dil Dhadakne Do was a bit light and it was very much normal. Post this film, when I do Befikre I will have to switch to an another light and romantic mode.”

When asked about his happy going behavior Ranveer said, “I am a people’s person and love large crowds. I feel that there is a positive exchange of energy whenever I meet people. I am a showman and an entertainer and I like being that way. Every person is different in their homes and their various roles. When I step out of my home, I love entertaining people and cracking some jokes.”
