He takes personal coaching with his love interest Manjari (Sameksha Singh) from Tej Pratap Singh (Vikram Gokhale) who is head of examinations at University of Lucknow. So Ajay’s life is sorted as he studies, works hard for the exam with friend Manjari. On the other hand, there’s a Minister who thinks himself as a don and wants everyone to obey his rules and also makes his work done on Gunpoint or by giving Bribe. As soon as the 3rd year paper is leaked, Tej Pratap Singh is arrested for the crime which he is not aware of and the servant of Tej Pratap Singh helps the minister to leak the paper, but later he realises that he made several mistakes due to which Tej Pratap Singh has been arrested and Tej’s wife has been hospitalized, so the servant decides to uncover the truth to the police which he does over a call and they ask him to meet at a location but before that the servant is killed on the way and this whole scene is witnessed by Tej Pratap Singh’s daughter who tries to escape as soon as possible and luckily Ajay and his friends reach the same place and indulge into a fight and during that Ajay gets into some unfortunate events which change his life thereafter. Now, what happens in the story and what are the twists, how he becomes a gangster? You’ll only get to know when you visit the nearest theatre and watch it.
It was great to see Rajeev Khandelwal back with action and crime packed film. The casting was done on point with some of the great actors of Bollywood. Rajeev Khandelwal again gave confidence to the audience with his brilliant acting as an IAS student and also as a gangster. Vikram Gokhale was an extra bonus to the film. Atul Kulkarni did justice to his character while Aniruddh Dave didn’t fail to give his best.
Directed and written by Sanjiv Jaiswal, the storyline is not much solid to make the film a hit. Some scenes were stretched to an extent which was not at all in need and the main parts or the important ones were shown just in a fraction of minutes. The 2nd half was less than the expectation, the story could have been framed in a better way, but the actors made it a watchable one.
Cinespeaks Verdict: From an IAS student Ajay’s life taking twists and turns to a gangster, Pranaam is surely a watchable one with some great actions and a storyline and the education scam of Uttar Pradesh. Some scenes could have been chopped off and some scenes could have been extended but overall it is good to watch.
