Review: ‘Sanjivani’ gives a major nostalgic throwback to the iconic show.

No spoilers, read on

Sanjivani is coming back after almost 17 years and it gained a lot of buzz with the announcement. Although the original Sanjivani was a hit back then. It is the only Indian television medical show with great popularity and success.

After watching the 1st episode the thing I could anticipate about the whole show is that it is going to be different from the original Sanjivani but the essence remains the same. The show is not about doctors romance but majorly focus on cases that doctors solve in their daily life. The show revolves around the personal and professional lives of doctors and how they help their patients and keep them above their own lives.

We have newer cast with the old ones and this is going to be a great combination. The existing ones are the pillars of the show, Dr. Shashank (Mohnish Bahl) and Dr. Juhi (Gurdeep Kohli) without them the show would have been incomplete as they were also the leads in Sanjivani earlier. In the new doctor’s coat, we have Dr. Sid (Namit Khanna) and Dr. Ishani (Surbhi Chandna). The show also casts Rohit Roy as Dr. Vardhaan and Sayantani Ghosh as Dr. Anjali. It is a full package show with great actors and an enlightening story about doctors.

The original show inspired a lot of people to be a doctor, and I am sure this Sanjivani will also have the same impact. The best part of the new Sanjivani is that it has the same tune – “Hum toh chale the dost banke jaane kaha dill mil gaye”. This tune resembles the original show every time and makes you feel nostalgic. With respect to the medical field, it has a lot more educated content and is different from regular drama show but will keep the audience attention.

Sanjivani is a must watch daily show at the present time. Hats off to the creator Siddharth Malhotra to create iconic Sanjivani, Dill Mill Gaye and now again came back with Sanjivani after more than a decade. The show will air on Star Plus from 12th August at 7:30 PM.
